Warped Games chose Sui as its preferred Web3 technology for the launch of its upcoming Warped Universe, an innovative multi-genre game letting players engage in third person real-time action, turn-by-turn strategy, and base building. Built with Unreal Engine 5, Warped Universe will leverage Sui to empower players with the ability to own, trade, and monetize their in-game assets.
Comprised of writers, coders, and creatives from around the globe, the Warped Games team has decades of experience in game development, Web3 applications, and marketing for top media and game studios. Members previously formed NetDevil, which developed LEGO Universe, and Wyrmbyte, creator of Dragons and Titans. Previous Web3 projects include STARL Metaverse.
Warped Games' announcement comes amid a flurry of gaming development on Sui, including XOCIETY, DARKTIMES, and Ambrus Studios' E4C: Final Salvation. Along with the many titles in development, Sui is cementing its place as the blockchain for gaming with SuiPlay0X1, the first dedicated Web3 mobile gaming device.
Incorporating an array of gaming experiences into Warped Universe, the game focuses on player choice. Instead of a game that's locked into a particular genre, Warped Universe promises to let players select from third person real-time action or turn-based strategy for each mission. In addition, players choose ground or in-air combat, and whether to play solo or as a team for each mission.
Sui's dynamic NFT technology further contributes to a player-first experience. Items that players acquire in the game are fully owned digital assets. On Sui, these assets can change and evolve as a function of gameplay, possibly through crafting or experience. Players will be able to engage in a vibrant marketplace for items, moving beyond anything seen previously.
Sui's quick, parallel transaction processing, powered by Mysticeti, makes it the perfect network to host Warped Universe. Players will experience immediate fulfillment of their item trades and acquisitions, eliminating any friction between them and exciting gameplay.
