Sui Bridge now incorporates Circle's Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP), empowering users to transfer the USDC stablecoin natively between Sui and eight other chains. The implementation of CCTP gives Sui Bridge greater utility and makes moving USDC more efficient.

CCTP enables secure one to one USDC transfers across Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Ethereum, Noble, OP Mainnet, Polygon PoS, and Solana in addition to the newly added Sui. Users transferring their USDC across chains only pay the gas fees for the transactions on the originating and destination chains. CCTP burns the original USDC and mints new USDC native to the destination chain. Because the value of USDC is tied to the US dollar, CCTP does not need to make a currency conversion.

Sui Bridge, which launched in September, works as a native bridge on Sui and currently supports transfers between SUI and ETH. Integrating CCTP into Sui Bridge gives users a single destination for asset transfers, increasing interoperability between chains.
