Today, Bing Gordon, a longtime gaming executive for Electronic Arts (EA) & technology venture capitalist, has been named an advisor to the Sui Foundation. Mr. Gordon’s appointment follows the recent landmark announcement from CCP Games, the creators of EVE Online, selecting Sui as the exclusive blockchain partner for their latest endeavor, space survival MMO EVE Frontier

With over four decades of experience, most notably at Electronic Arts for 26 years, as well as his recent appointment in 2022 to the Board of Directors of Take-Two, the parent studio behind Grand Theft Auto, Mr. Gordon will advise on bringing blockchain-based gaming to the mainstream, sharing his decades of expertise in marketing strategy and execution with teams building games on Sui.

“Sui’s gaming ecosystem is about to get a massive upgrade thanks to Bing’s wealth of knowledge in the world of gaming and technology,” said Christian Thompson, Managing Director of Sui Foundation. “Bing has spent his career at the forefront of gaming innovation, and we can’t wait for the teams building the next hit games to benefit from his experience and expertise – this time, on Sui.”

During his time at EA, Bing  was instrumental in the design of video games such as Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, Sid Meier's SimGolf, and The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth. In addition to his time at Electronic Arts, Mr. Gordon has sat on numerous boards, such as Amazon, Ngmoco, Duolingo, and most recently Take-Two Interactive following its merger with Zynga. After his time at EA, Mr. Gordon joined the venture capital firm Kleiner-Perkins, serving as the Chief Product Officer and advisor, while also leading the firm's sFund, an investment initiative that funds and builds applications and services delivering on the promise of the social web.

“In my career, I’ve come to understand that what it takes to build the next ‘big thing’ in gaming takes more than flashy marketing and buzzy new features,” said Bing Gordon in response to the news. “It takes teams who fundamentally understand how to build engaging and exciting gameplay from the ground up, and the infrastructure to back up games that bring people back over and over again. This is what sets Sui apart, having a combination of developer teams and  the technological infrastructure it takes to deliver true AAA experiences for players worldwide.”

Gordon’s new advisor role is the latest in a line of major announcements from games being built on Sui, including EVE Frontier, the forthcoming release of XOCIETY, the first-person shooter whose demo was ranked #1 in the Epic Games Store, and the launch of the hardware device the SuiPlay0X1.
