Evan Cheng

Co-Founder, Chief Executive Officer, Mysten Labs

Evan Cheng is the Co-Founder and CEO of Mysten Labs. He brings more than 20 years of experience in systems engineering and blockchain infrastructure and nearly 10 years of professional experience at Meta (formerly Facebook), where he served as Director of R&D at Novi Financial, leading research in systems security, programming languages, and formal verification.

Prior to Meta, Evan held multiple senior management roles in software engineering and systems architecture at Apple, including Senior Manager of Compilation Technologies and LLVM Backend, overseeing Apple's static and runtime compilation efforts for CPUs and GPUs. Evan created the LLVM Compiler Infrastructure, which is now an industry-standard compiler framework used by major technology companies.

With expertise in low-level systems programming and blockchain scalability, Evan is a key figure in Web3 innovation. Evan is a recipient of the ACM Software System Award for his contributions to compiler technology and holds multiple patents in high-performance computing and blockchain security.

Evan holds a Master’s in Computer Science from Syracuse University.
