Earlier this month at Consensus, the DeepBook team announced what they have been building toward: a complete financial infrastructure layer for Sui, built on three composable primitives that work together.

  • Spot for trading
  • Margin for leverage
  • Predict for outcomes

Together, they unlock markets and trading strategies that don’t exist anywhere else in crypto today.

New trading app

A new trading app powered by DeepBook is coming.

Quick takeaways:

  • Pick any strike instead of trading against preset markets
  • Trade ranges, not just up or down
  • Use leverage directly inside positions
  • Access more capital-efficient market structures
  • Built on the liquidity infrastructure powering Sui Finance

What DeepBook announced

DeepBook started as Sui's native order book, the shared liquidity infrastructure underneath the trading apps you already use on Sui. Then came Margin, the leverage and borrowing primitive that lets builders compose credit directly into their products. Together, Spot and Margin gave the ecosystem a foundation. Predict, which was announced at Consensus, completes it.

Combined with Spot and Margin, Predict opens up a design space that didn't previously exist onchain. Continuous strikes let traders choose the exact price level they want to trade against instead of selecting from a fixed list of presets. Native range bets turn a position like “BTC between $80k and $85k” into a single contract instead of two separate legs at significantly higher capital cost. And leverage built directly into the contract enables more precise exposure with lower fees and tighter execution.

The deeper point is that all of this is options infrastructure under the hood.

Prediction markets serve as the entry point to a more flexible and composable trading experience on Sui. Bitcoin price action markets come first, with the underlying system designed to support increasingly sophisticated trading strategies over time.

When Spot, Margin, and Predict work together, traders get access to more precise exposure, more capital-efficient positions, and market types that are difficult or fragmented across existing trading venues today.

The path is clear, and the team is building towards it.
