The launch of Ika's MPC network on Sui, with its DWalletCap object, heralds a new era in Web3 interoperability, creating the capability for Sui smart contracts to manage assets on other blockchains. Through Ika, builders can create apps on Sui that manage assets across multiple networks.

Similar to Sui's proven record of high performance and sub-second finality, Ika scales to 10,000 transactions per second (TPS) and supports hundreds of signer nodes with zero-trust security. This level of performance unlocks new possibilities, and Ika is already working with a growing ecosystem of teams to bring these capabilities to life by providing foundational infrastructure transforming how independent distributed networks communicate.

Ika's infrastructure

At the heart of Ika's network is its 2PC-MPC cryptographic scheme, which creates secure interactions across chains. Together with Sui’s consensus mechanism, Mysticeti, 2PC-MPC allows Ika to be the first sub-second MPC network, enabling massive scale and speed in addition to zero-trust security.

A new Sui object created by Ika, DWalletCap, serves as the connecting glue between Ika's decentralized network and Sui. Builders can create a DWalletCap object on Sui, and have it point to a wallet on Ika. Through this mechanism, a Sui app using DWalletCap can securely send instructions to Ika, and from there, interoperate with any other blockchain network supported by Ika. Unlike a bridge, no assets need to be transferred to Sui. Instead, a DWalletCap-enabled smart contract generates valid signatures for account addresses on other blockchains, enabling the smart contract to control those addresses and sign transactions.

Further enhancing usability, DWalletCap, as with any object on Sui, can be owned by a specific account or other objects, creating the conditions for sophisticated apps incorporating AI and other technologies.

Building on Ika

Ika's launch lets builders take advantage of assets across the wider world of blockchains. Before Ika, builders had to choose a blockchain to engage with its assets. Now, builders can create projects on Sui that leverage Ika to engage with assets on different blockchains. The first partners leveraging Ika will demonstrate what's possible.

  • Native is building Bitcoin liquidity protocols - native BTC lending, trading, and yield generation. Your sats will finally play in DeFi while staying on Bitcoin.
  • Human Tech is creating an ambitious “Wallet-as-a-Protocol” solution where chain boundaries disappear - one interface controlling assets everywhere.
  • Rhei Finance is building native zero-trust multi-chain DeFi solutions, focusing on institutional users and use cases.
  • Aeon is developing novel zero-trust custody solutions focusing on ai agents, the bright future of DeFAI economy - with the security of decentralized MPC guardrails.
  • Nativerse is architecting the impossible - stablecoins backed by native Bitcoin. Not wrapped BTC, not synthetic BTC, actual Bitcoin securing actual stablecoins.
  • Ekko is building a seamless AI chatbot interface powered by Ika, providing the most secure and decentralized solution while keeping everything super simple and intuitive for the user.
  • Legacy Link is building a full estate management solution where digital assets can be securely and seamlessly transferred to the rightful heirs.
  • Full Sail is building an efficient AMM taking advantage of Sui's scalable, performant transactions and Ika's groundbreaking interoperability.
  • These teams and many others are building production systems that prove it is no longer impossible to operate across multiple chains without compromising on security and usability.

Made possible by Sui

Sui's attributes make it a fundamental platform for Ika. The type of MPC network Ika built requires a highly performant platform to provide any utility. With Ika's capacity able to hit 10,000 TPS, a slow blockchain would become a bottleneck. Sui, however, has proven it can handle this level of traffic. Mysticeti, Sui’s consensus engine, enables extremely low latency while supporting the high throughput that applications like Ika demand.

In addition, Sui's object-based data model makes the connection between Sui and Ika fluid and programmable, letting builders create a new generation of interoperable apps.

Only with Sui can Ika deliver the kind of performance that builders will need to deliver apps that meet user expectations, and create an entirely new world of interoperability.
