Karrier One, the innovative company building a decentralized mobile phone network, made its WiFi offloading device available, offering incentives for purchasers and a giveaway of the first 300 devices. As a dimension of Karrier One's global network, the WiFi devices let anyone become a node in its decentralized physical infrastructure, earning its KONE native token for making bandwidth available.
Previously this year, Karrier One advanced its plans by launching its Karrier Number System (KNS) as a closed beta and integrating SCION, a next generation global networking protocol, into its network.
As a decentralized telecom provider, the Karrier One network relies on individuals installing 5G cellular access points. People who participate in the network earn Karrier One's token based on use of their access points. This type of network potentially extends service to underserved areas which centralized telecoms may not cover. Karrier One leverages Sui for its token management and KNS system, which creates phone numbers for users of the network.
Users who win or purchase one of the WiFi offloading devices need only sign up with Karrier One and plug the device into their home Internet connection. The company sets up partnerships with telecoms, such as AT&T, that offer their customers WiFi service. As a user's devices begins offering bandwidth to the telecom, they begin earning Karier One's token.

Earlier this year, Karrier One launched a closed beta for KNS, which redefines digital standards by integrating account verification, SIM swap protection, and Know Your Customer (KYC) processes into a single, seamless ecosystem. The system uses Sui to provide security and verification, as each phone number becomes an NFT which cannot be copied.
Users can either register their existing phone number through KNS, or acquire a new number.
Along with the WiFi device and KNS, Karrier One will also provide SCION connectivity, a new global networking standard for the Internet. SCION is essentially an upgrade to the Internet Protocol, which specifies data transmission across the Internet. As it rolls out, SCION installs alongside existing Internet network architecture, and can route data packets to other routers equipped with the SCION standard.
