Holding SUI and stablecoins, paying gas, signing into an app, staking, swapping, sending money to someone: all of it happens from a wallet. It is your account on the network and the proof that the account is yours. SUI is the network’s native token. While gas fees on Sui are typically only a fraction of a cent, you will need some amount of SUI in your wallet before your first transaction will go through. This guide walks through picking a wallet, setting it up, funding it, and using it safely. # **Start with Slush** Slush is the wallet built by Mysten Labs, the team that built Sui. It launched in April 2025, replacing Sui Wallet and folding in Stashed, and it is the wallet most people on Sui should start with. It runs as a browser extension, an iOS app, an Android app, and a web app at slush.app, and your address is the same across all four. **Four things make it the default recommendation:** - **Sign in without a recovery phrase.** Slush supports zkLogin, a Sui-native method that derives your address from a Google, Apple, Facebook, or Twitch sign-in. There is no seed phrase to lose, and no company holds your funds. This is the single biggest reason people who bounced off crypto wallets stick with this one. - **Earning and swapping are built in.** Staking SUI with a validator, swapping tokens, and reaching vetted protocols all happen inside the wallet. You are not sent off to a separate site to do the things you actually opened the wallet for. - **Slush Links.** Send tokens or NFTs with a shareable link or a QR code. The person receiving them does not need to have a wallet set up first, which makes paying someone who is new to Sui far less painful. - **It works where you are.** Extension support covers Chrome, Brave, Arc, and Firefox. The web app needs no download at all. Mobile apps cover iOS and Android, and include a browser for connecting to Sui apps from your phone. # **Other wallets worth knowing** Sui supports a wide field of wallets, and the right one depends on how you plan to use the network. If you hold assets on several chains, or you are storing a large balance long term, one of these may suit you better, or may be worth running alongside Slush. ![\_\_wf\_reserved\_inherit](https://cdn.prod.website-files.com/693322d04141bcb0ce1ffb7e/6a8302f06f76e576bb971930_Screenshot%202026-08-17%20at%204.47.15%E2%80%AFPM.png) **_A note on Ethos:_** _Ethos was one of the most recommended Sui wallets in 2023, but the team sunset all of its Sui products on November 1, 2024. If you are following an older guide, or you still have an Ethos recovery phrase saved, import that phrase into a current wallet and move on._ You can run more than one wallet, and you can hold more than one account inside a single wallet. Many people keep a day-to-day account for small amounts and a separate one, often on hardware, for everything else. # **Install Slush** ## **On desktop** 1. Open the Chrome Web Store and search for "Slush", or go to slush.app and follow the install link. 2. Click Add to Chrome. Brave, Arc, and Firefox users install the same way through their own extension stores. 3. Pin the extension so it is one click away when an app asks you to connect. ## **On mobile** 1. Search for "Slush" in the App Store or Google Play, published by Mysten Labs. 2. Install and open the app. ## **Without installing anything** Go to slush.app in any browser and use the web app directly. This is the fastest way to try Sui, and your account carries over if you install the extension or the mobile app later. **Before you install anything:** confirm the publisher is Mysten Labs and reach the download through slush.app or sui.io. Fake wallet extensions are the most common way people lose funds on any network. # **Create an account** Slush gives you two ways to create an account, and both can live side by side in the same wallet. ## **Social login with zkLogin** Sign in with Google, Apple, Facebook, or Twitch. Sui derives an address from that credential using zero-knowledge cryptography, so the provider never learns your wallet address and never has the ability to move your funds. There is no recovery phrase to store. **The trade-off:** your access is tied to that account with that provider. If you lose the underlying login, you lose the path back in. Use a provider account you control firmly and have secured with its own two-factor authentication. ## **Recovery phrase** Create a password and Slush generates a twelve-word recovery phrase. That phrase is the account. Write it down on paper, store it somewhere physically safe, and never photograph it, type it into a password manager note, or paste it into a website. Anyone who reads it owns everything in the wallet. This is the right choice if you want an account that is portable to any other Sui wallet and does not depend on a third-party login. # **Get SUI into your wallet** Your wallet shows a public address, a long string beginning with 0x. That address is safe to share: it is what people and exchanges send to. There are three common ways to fund it: - **Withdraw from an exchange.** Buy SUI on a major exchange such as Coinbase, Binance, or OKX, then withdraw to your Sui address. Make sure the withdrawal network is set to Sui. Send a small test amount first if the balance is meaningful to you. - **Buy or swap inside the wallet.** Slush includes on-ramp and swap options, which is usually the shortest path if you already hold another asset on Sui. - **Receive a Slush Link.** If someone is sending you assets, they can send a link or QR code and you claim it straight into your wallet. **Keep a little SUI on hand.** Even when you are moving stablecoins, gas is paid in SUI. A small balance held back saves you from a stuck transaction later. # **Use your wallet** - **Connect to an app.** When a Sui app asks you to connect, your wallet opens and asks for approval. Read what you are approving. Connecting is not the same as authorizing a transfer, and a legitimate app will never need your recovery phrase. - **Send and receive.** Paste an address, or use a Slush Link when the recipient does not have a wallet yet. - **Stake SUI.** Delegate to a validator from inside the wallet and earn staking rewards. Your SUI stays yours, and you can unstake later. - **Swap tokens.** Trade between assets without leaving the wallet. - **Explore apps.** The mobile app includes a built-in browser for Sui apps, so you are not copying links between apps on your phone. # **Keep it secure** - Never share your recovery phrase or password with anyone, for any reason. No support team, moderator, or airdrop will ever ask for it. Every request for one is theft. - Store a recovery phrase offline, on paper or metal, in a place you would trust with cash. - Type domains yourself or use a saved bookmark. Search ads and social posts are a standard delivery route for cloned wallet sites. - Read the transaction before you approve it. Check the amount, the asset, and the destination. - Use a hardware wallet for balances you are not actively using, and keep day-to-day spending in a separate account. - Secure the account behind your social login with two-factor authentication if you use zkLogin. # **What comes next** Slush is moving toward being the place you actually spend from, not just where assets sit.
